This is a true American dessert that is featured in the disney-animated movie Snow White and the Seven Dwarves – maybe some of you remember Snow White’s escape from the Evil Queen and finding refuge at the residence of the Seven Dwarves. Her ability to bake on top of her acceptance of each unique personality of the dwarves created a wonderful connection of friendship and protection.
These apple dumplings are made with homemade pie dough & granny smith apples and sweetly seasoned with date sugar & cinnamon.
You’ll have the whole house filled with a luscious baked apple aroma and bring a fairytale element to the dinner table. It’s a perfect dish to make for dessert on Thanksgiving or a holiday.
Where did this dessert really originate? It was created in the Northeast region of America, particularly Pennslyvania during apple harvest season and became a sensation especially among the Amish.
This was one of my favorite desserts that I remember my Mom making only when I was very young, and pairing it with vanilla ice cream. It’s a true gem recipe and absolutely divine.
