This is a delicious and easy-to-make dessert that closely resembles a meat-based salami roll – and it’s perfect to enjoy at any time of the day as well as to serve at gatherings!

The chocolate salami dessert originated in Italy and Portugal with a traditional recipe including cocoa powder, biscuits, butter, eggs, and rum. From there, it spread across the world to become a popular dessert and drove the creation of new recipes.

While this was not a dessert I grew up with, it is a popular dessert of my culture that I always wanted to try. And with respect to the rise of food sensitivities and allergies around the world, I created a recipe without gluten, dairy, or artificial sugars.

And let me tell you, it is absolutely amazing – not just in taste, but texture as well!

Using vegan honey cookies, dark chocolate, cocoa powder, roasted coconut butter, and vegan marshmallows, the dessert yields a beautiful chocolate roll that does not need baking. The best way I can describe the taste is that it is very similar to S’mores, which are made with graham crackers, marshmallows, and chocolate – but it is so much easier to eat!

This is a decadent, easy-to-make dessert that I hope that you enjoy with your family and loved ones.

Let me know in the comments below if you tried the recipe and if you have any variations you’d like to share! 🙂
