Welcome to my culinary journey through the flavors of Hungary! Today, I’m excited to share with you the wonders of authentic Hungarian Langos flatbread. This traditional flatbread holds a special place in Hungarian cuisine, offering tantalizing combination of crispy, deep-fried bread and a savory garlic sauce.

Originating from Hungary, Langos has been enjoyed for centuries by locals and visitors alike. Traditionally, associated with street food, this versatile flatbread has evolved into a beloved dish that’s now found in many Hungarian homes and restaurants. Its popularity has spread across Europe, making it a must-try culinary delight.

The bread itself is made with simple ingredients of flour, yeast, salt, and water. This provides a good source of energy perfect for an active day. And it tastes so good! It has a satisfying crunch that satiates the taste buds, making it an excellent comfort food option. Topped with a garlic sauce, it is not only delicious, but it has numerous health benefits. Garlic contains powerful antioxidants and may help boost the immune system and reduce the risk of certain diseases.

Langos can be customized with various toppings, including sour cream, cheese, ham, and fresh vegetables. By adding nutrient-rich ingredients, you can enhance the nutritional profile of this delectable treat. If you’d like a sweet version, do not include the garlic sauce and instead top with jam or fruit preserve.

To store the flatbread, first allow the Langos to cool completely. Then place it in an airtight container to store in a fridge for up to 2 days. It can be reheated in the oven for 5-8 minutes at 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
